Employment / Admissions Counselor
SUMMARY
The Admissions Counselor will be responsible for executing strategies and initiatives designed to meet the enrollment goals of Shepherds College. This is accomplished through representation at recruiting events/conferences, digital strategies, on/off-campus high school visits, developing a network of contacts and partnerships, facilitating on-campus experiences, and guiding students through the initial stages of the admissions process.
Full-time position - Monday through Friday, first shift but will require some weekend travel, tradeshows, preview days, and other events that will fall out of the normal days/hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Admissions
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all aspects of SC programming and the admissions process
- Represent and share Shepherds College at selected schools, conferences, transition fairs, and other special events
- Promote all on-campus prospective student exploration opportunities, including; ESCV, Preview Days, College for a Week, and individual and group tours
- Support SC stakeholder engagement initiatives through participation in point-of-entry events
- Continually evaluate and contribute to the improvement of the prospective student experience and other stakeholders, in all aspects of exposure to Shepherds College, leading to enrollment
- Initiate communication and develop relationships with professionals, parents, and prospective students
- Communicate proactively and responsively with prospective students and their parents
- Respond promptly to new inquiries and follow up with promotional material in a timely manner
- Collect, organize and present key performance indicators to measure progress towards established enrollment goals
- Execute the digital strategy of the Admissions Office through the coordination of Virtual Preview Days, social media promotion, and the e-newsletter aligned with Shepherds College branding and messaging
- Coordinate and oversee the Admissions’ Federal Work-Study program.
- Implement methods to strategically utilize current students and parents in both on and off-campus opportunities
- Promote and generate leads for SC Online
- Develop, grow and sustain the Alumni/Parent Ambassador program
- Coordinate College for a Week visitors, including receipt of all application materials
- Collect feedback from stakeholders to inform the ongoing improvement of Shepherds College admissions operations
- Develop strategies and initiatives to increase engagement among faculty, staff, and students relative to the prospective student experience, enrollment, and retention

Skills / Qualifications
- Work-related experience; preference is given to candidates who have worked in student recruitment and/or admissions
- Bachelor degree is preferred
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Effective communicator, including verbal and written communication
- Strong organizational and execution skills
- Possess a high level of professional and personal integrity, including the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to self–direct and demonstrate a high level of initiative
- Solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
