Life On Top: One Imperfect Life

Do you ever feel like you can’t do anything right?

Maybe you feel pressured about joining Shepherds College® as a first-year student, or perhaps you’re a recent graduate about to step out into the real world. Looking at the big picture of your future can feel overwhelming. I have news for you: On your own, you can do nothing!

If that doesn’t sound comforting, let’s look to Jesus for guidance. The Savior of the world said the same thing in the book of Matthew: Jesus looked at them and said: ‘With man this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible.’ In other words, Jesus was telling His disciples that nobody is perfect. Even more importantly, He explained that a person can only truly succeed in life if they place their faith in Him. Though challenges will arise, God is always there, holding on to you.

Sometimes, it can feel like God has forgotten you, especially on days when it seems like your whole world is crumbling. But there’s always hope! God will never let you down. On my tough days, I remember that God is a God of comfort, and He’s blessed me with Shepherds College. Shepherds College has impacted my life tremendously. God has blessed me with great staff and fellow students to support me. As a first-year student, I’ve learned to embrace my disabilities instead of trying to hide them, realizing that God made me the way He did for a reason. I’m a much happier person now that I realize this.

Stop trying to be perfect! It’s impossible! But the ever-loving Jesus makes all things possible through Him, so don’t feel overwhelmed.

Take your one life one day at a time.
