Shepherds College Student Life Program

The following positions are currently available within our Student Life program:

Student Life Staff

Part Time & Full Time Opportunities Available; Monday-Friday 2pm-9pm, Saturdays and Sundays 7am-9pm; pay commensurate with experience

Student Life Staff - Weekends

Part-Time; Saturdays, 7am–9pm; pay commensurate with experience

Student Life Staff - Pool

Part Time. Must work a minimum of two shifts (6-7 hours each) per month - 2nd shift on weekdays, 1st or 2nd shift on weekends. Pool workers will be called on an as needed basis. Pay commensurate with experience.

Emergency Response Staff

(Sleep-In Shift, Male ONLY) - Part Time or Full Time available. Full Time is Benefit Eligible; Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30pm - 8:30am; pay commensurate with experience

SUMMARY

As a Student Life Staff member, you will be working hands-on with our students to develop the skills necessary for life after graduation. Whether you are teaching students how to cook or facilitating an outing to a baseball game, you will be creating a positive and lasting impact in their lives and futures. This position is perfect for future educators, social workers and those who have a passion for ministry.

Requirements for these positions include being a born again Christian committed to a local Bible believing church with a lifestyle that is in agreement with the Shepherds College Mission Statement, a Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required (a degree in social work, psychology or special education is a plus), experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, a strong commitment to student learning and development, effective communication skills (including both verbal and written communication) and a high level of professionalism, including the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Business Office

The following position is currently available in our Business Office:

Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk

As Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk you will be working in our business office gathering and sorting documents for accounts payable, gathering related purchasing information for multiple business credit cards and entering into spreadsheet, recording receipts, producing billing documentation, organizing and mailing invoices to customers and other AP/AR Clerk duties.

Skills and requirements for this position include being a born again Christian committed to a local bible believing church, data entry, good math skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, attention to detail, and thoroughness. A high school diploma is required, effective communicator; including verbal and written communication, strong organizational skills, high level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Part-time position, 20 hours per week. Days can be determined with supervisor.

Shepherds Academic Program

Special Education Instructor

As a Special Education Instructor, you will instruct classes as assigned, evaluate the academic needs of students and assist in the selection of appropriate curriculum materials which meet the needs of students and the objectives of the program, present lessons utilizing effective instructional methods; complete weekly lesson plans, assess students’ knowledge, understanding, and skill acquisition regularly, complete and maintain student records on an ongoing basis, contribute to continuous school improvement and serve on an internal accreditation team, interact with instructors and advisors regarding the academic goals of individual students, evaluate and assess prospective students and participate in writing summary reports.

Skills and qualifications for this position include being a born-again Christian committed to a local bible believing church, a Bachelor’s degree in education is required; special education is a plus, experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, must be a quality educator with a commitment to student learning, effective communicator; including verbal and written communication, strong organizational skills, high level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Full-time, benefits eligible, Monday–Friday.

Special Education Paraprofessional

As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will assist students in preparing for class, supervise students in assigned areas before class, manage classroom behavior, facilitate students in small groups, work one on one with students in and out of classrooms, co-teach with instructor, and assist students with academic tasks and organizational skills.

Skills and requirements for this position included being a born-again Christian committed to a local bible believing church, Bachelor’s degree is preferred; special education a plus, experience in an educational setting as a tutor or classroom assistant, experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities, ABA certification is a plus.

Full-time, benefits eligible, Monday-Friday.
